Keita Chida is an internationally active pianist, performing in critically acclaimed concerts as a soloist and chamber musician. In recent years he has performed regularly at festivals such as the Euro Arts Music Festival Leipzig and the Banyuls-sur-Mer Music Festival in Banyuls-sur-Mer (France) and has played as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra in Romania, among others. His concert travels during this time have brought him to France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Romania and Japan.
Born in Akita, Japan, he began playing the piano at the age of 12 and shortly thereafter won the 2002 All Japan National Competition in Japan. He went on to study with Setsuko Hirano, Chie Watanabe, Hidetoshi Oiwa, Takahiro Hoshino, Toru Kimura, and Theodore Paraskivesco, and a close artistic partnership links him with pianist Eric Heidsieck, with whom he studies at the École Normale de Musique de Paris and the Schola Cantorum.
