Inlays

Our inlaid instruments feature fine pieces of various woods, mother-of-pearl, or precious metals precisely inlaid into a surface to create delicate patterns. The high-quality craftsmanship creates harmonious color and material contrasts that are not only decorative but also timelessly elegant. The precise fit, smooth surface, and exquisite choice of materials give the instrument a distinctive look.

Pyramid Mahogany Inlay with Madrona Veneer Filling

A preferred inlay design is mahogany inlay on a mahogany-veneered instrument. Here, a dynamic, dark pyramid wood inlay is inserted into fine mahogany (outer frame) as a frame decoration. The filling areas are filled with warm, cloudy grain from madrona veneer (from the wood of the strawberry tree) to create a harmonious, calm contrast. This artistic interplay of three exquisite veneers makes each piece unique – elegant, timeless, and with an unmistakable character.

A delicate inlay line made of light beech wood adds a subtle accent that breaks up the overall look and emphasizes the elegant shape. The harmonious interplay of dark exoticism and light clarity gives the instrument a timeless aesthetic – both powerful and delicate.
