Dénes Várjon, born 1968 in Budapest, studied with György Kurtág and Sándor Devich and participated in master courses with András Schiff. He is award winner of the Concours Géza Anda, the Leo Weiner Chamber Music Competition (Budapest) and Hungarian Radio's Piano Competition. In 1997 he received the Liszt Prize. Dénes Várjon has appeared as guest musician at Salzburg Festivals, Davos Festival, Piano Festival Ruhr, Kissinger Sommer, András Schiffs „Ittinger Pfingstkonzerten,“ Lucerne Piano Series, etc. Dénes Várjon has appeared in concerts with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, Gidon Kremer's Kremerata Baltica; he has played chamber music with András Schiff and many others. Dénes Várjon has made numerous recordings under Capriccio, Hungaroton, Naxos and Sony Classical Teldec labels. He is professor at the Liszt Academy.
