We’re happy to introduce MJ Pianos in Utah. In 2021, owner Matt Johnson opened his first storefront in the town of American Fork to offer customers quality grand and upright piano products and top-notch services.
The mission of Matt Johnson is to help Utah families create lasting memories, build a stronger sense of togetherness, and cultivate talent through quality pianos and piano services.
MJ Pianos services & products include the sale of new and used pianos, tuning, repairs and rebuilding. Also there is a recital hall that can seat up to 100 people featuring a C. Bechstein grand piano. Besides this MJ Pianos is a partner and supplier of several regional concerts and orchestras. For exmaple it was the supplier of the "Salute to Youth Concert" by the American Fork Symphony, of which you can see some recordings in the video below.
The story behind MJ Pianos
Like many Utahans, Matt Johnson grew up in a home with a piano. In his teenage years, he noticed the family piano was horrendously out of tune. After countless hours of research and hard work, and plenty of trial and error, he was finally able to tune it.
Subsequently he worked hard to continue to perfect his tuning skills and skills in other facets of piano technology. He had worked at piano stores, at Brigham Young University (Utah), and also learned from piano technicians all around the world. He is a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technicians Guild. Additionally, he is a Bechstein Factory Trained Concert Technician.
Suffice it to say, he has the knowledge and experience to best help customers fall in love with a piano.
