Nohant Festival Chopin celebrates successful festival season

During the almost two festival months in the heart of France, many highly renowned pianists have performed on our concert grand D 282

The 53rd edition of the renowned Nohant Festival Chopin ended on 23 July 2019. Over the course of almost two months, since 1 June 2019, many highly regarded artists have performed in the tiny town in the heart of France.

We are immensely pleased to continue our successful cooperation with C. Bechstein as exclusive partner in 2019. And we are especially proud that such renowned artists as for instance Nelson Freire, Fazil Say and Akiko Ebi gave their concerts on our C. Bechstein concert grand D 282.

Congratulations any many thanks to all artists and the festival team for this beautiful collaboration!

Master pianists express enthusiasm over C. Bechstein concert grand

Many of the pianists took the time to express their enthusiasm about our instrument: Akiko Ebi for instance spoke of a 'magnificent' instrument, and Louis Schwizgebel praised the 'beautiful colours' of the grand. Nelson Freire also mentioned the 'very good Bechstein', and Franceso Piemontesi expressed his thanks for the 'extraordinary Bechstein concert grand'. We are immensely proud of this high praise for our instrument and our piano technicians on site, Torben Garlin and Hervé Catin.

The Nohant Festival Chopin takes place on the estate Maison de George Sand

The Nohant Festival takes place at the Maison de George Sand in Nohant-Vic. The property was the home of George Sand (1804-1876) and was acquired by the French state in 1952. Sand had written many of her books on her estate, as well as housing the most important artists and writers of her time. Chopin, Balzac, Turgenev and Delacroix took the latch in the hand. The Nohant Festival Chopin takes place under the artistic direction of Professor Yves Henry.
