Kit Armstrong at Musiktage Feldafing

This year the festival Musiktage Feldafing took place for the first time under the artistic direction of Kit Armstrong and Franziska Hölscher. Bechstein was a partner at this small but exquisite event.

Old, familiar and unknown works were to be served to the audience of the Musiktage Feldafing 2021. The American pianist Kit Armstrong and the German violinist Franziska Hölscher had come up with quite unusual concert formats on this theme, such as a concert talk on the development of piano music or a late night with jazz, film and klezmer music.

For years, the small festival has managed to attract stars of the international music world such as Sabine Meyer, Lars Vogt or the Bavarian State Orchestra under Kirill Petrenko to picturesque Feldafing, and this year, again, it offered its audience a stellar line-up in the historic church of St. Peter and Paul.

From August 6 to 8, 2021, musical greats such as clarinetist Sebastian Manz, baritone Konstantin Krimmel and, of course, the two artistic directors presented themselves in six concerts. On the shores of Lake Starnberg they performed works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Robert Schumann and Béla Bartók, but also Clara Schumann, Luise Adolpha Le Beau or even John Bull and William Byrd.

All concerts took place on a C. Bechstein C 234 concert grand, which Kit Armstrong praised in the highest terms afterwards. As media partner, BR-Klassik recorded selected concerts, which were subsequently broadcast on radio.

We look forward to many more concert experiences in Feldafing!
