In the third decade since it was founded, a dream comes true for the internationally Kronberg Academy Foundation: the Casals Forum, a chamber music hall that is unique in Europe for around 600 listeners, will be officially opened in September as part of the Kronberg Festival. In addition to the Great Hall, there will also be a smaller hall in the Casals Forum, which will be called the "Carl Bechstein Hall".
A C. Bechstein D 282 concert grand piano will be at home in both halls of the Casals Forum. The grand piano for the Great Hall has now been selected by Kirill Gerstein at the C. Bechstein Centrum Berlin. The star pianist and piano professor, who teaches at the Kronberg Academy and at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy in Berlin, was impressed by the quality of the four available C. Bechstein D 282 concert grands and explained that he had chosen the "all-rounder", which can be used equally well for orchestral concerts, chamber music and solo recitals. We are now looking forward to numerous concerts, master classes and CD productions with first-class musicians, which will take place from September 24, 2022 in the Casals Forum in Kronberg.
