Zimmermann piano as main prize at Bach Competition

C. Bechstein Europe is a partner in the 4th International Bach Competition for Children and Young People and has offered a new Zimmermann S 2 piano as the main prize.

“Bach's Way” is the title of the 4th International Bach Competition for Children and Young People, which will take place from October 24 to 27, 2025 at the “J. S. Bach” Art School in Dobřany (Czech Republic). C. Bechstein Europe is a partner of this competition and has awarded a new Zimmermann S 2 piano as the main prize.

"Bach is the father, we are the lads. Those of us who can do something right have learned it from him," Mozart is said to have commented on the Thomaskantor. This is proof enough of the importance of this unique composer, who will always remain a special challenge for children and young people, but also for adult musicians!

The Bach competition in Dobřany is divided into six age groups, with the oldest participants being 18 years old. Mandatory pieces by the Thomaskantor have been selected for each age group. Participants will have the opportunity to play on a W. Hoffmann Professional grand piano P 206 and also on a harpsichord. The high-caliber jury consists of pianists who are familiar with historical and contemporary instruments. The jury includes

Bernhard Klapprott (Germany), Ema Jedlička Gogova (Macedonia), Borbála Dobozy (Hungary), Anna Kašparová (Czech Republic), Lukáš Klánský (Czech Republic), Tomasz Ritter (Poland) and Marek Čermák (Czech Republic).

The closing date for applications is September 30, 2025 (inclusive).
