64th Chopin Festival in Marienbad: First-class music meets extraordinary flair

C. Bechstein was this year's official partner of the festival, one of the oldest in Europe.

The idyllic spa town of Mariánské Lázně opened its doors to music lovers from all over the world for the 64th time: the Chopin Festival delighted its visitors with outstanding symphony concerts, recitals and a special flair at various festival locations.

The cultural highlight, which takes place every year in the third week of August in the traditional West Bohemian town, is one of the oldest music festivals in Europe. The venues of the Chopin Festival are spread all over the city, including the Chopin House, the Casino Social House, the City Theater and the Kynžvart Castle.

Every two years since 1962, the festival has been accompanied by a piano competition dedicated exclusively to the works of Chopin. This competition has produced many talented young pianists whose names have gone on to become known throughout the music world.

C. Bechstein has been an official partner of the Chopin Festival since 2021, and pianists played on C. Bechstein grand pianos once again this year. In addition, the Hall of Mirrors of the magnificent Casino hosted an instrument exhibition featuring top-of-the-line pianos and grand pianos. Among them was a two-meter-long historic C. Bechstein grand piano built in Berlin in 1901 and fully restored by the experts of C. Bechstein Europe in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic.
