5 Star Music in the Black Forest: Haiou Zhang's New Concert Series at Öschberghof

Haiou Zhang impresses on C. Bechstein with his new concert series "Öschberghof Klassik International", a cooperation with the 5 star superior Resorthotel Öschberghof, which invites international classical music stars to the gentle hilly landscape of the Baar.

Located between the Black Forest, Switzerland and Lake Constance, the Öschberghof Hotel with its idyllic surroundings offers ideal conditions for the enjoyment of classical concerts. This was exactly the idea of its managing director Alexander Aisenbrey, who joined with star pianist Haiou Zhang and launched the new series "Öschberghof Klassik International". The 400-square-meter Beethoven Hall at the Öschberghof features state-of-the-art equipment: A parquet floor, floor-to-ceiling windows and a height-adjustable acoustic panel to ensure the optimal audio experience, and to top it all off, the Öschberghof has purchased a new C. Bechstein D282 concert grand piano, chosen by Haiou Zhang especially for the occasion.

On April 9, the new 2022 concert series kicked off with a recital featuring the SWR2 New Talent of the Year, the duo Esther Valentin-Fieguth, mezzo-soprano, and Anastasia Grishutina, piano, which was broadcast live on radio. Afterwards, the WDR Sinfonieorchester Chamber Players and violinist Tianwa Yang, among others, performed together with General Music Director Haiou Zhang and presented Beethoven's Spring Sonata in addition to famous compositions from China such as the "Butterfly lover's Violin Concerto" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the German-Chinese diplomatic relationship. An enthusiastic audience recently witnessed the winner of last year's Concours Reine Elisabeth in Brussels Jonathan Fournel, who captured everyone's hearts with his magnificent performance of Chopin's B minor Sonata Op. 58 and Brahms' F minor Sonata Op. 5.

In the current season, concerts are still planned with Eva Gevorgyan (September 30), Felix Klieser and Christof Keymer (December 3) as well as prize winners of the ARD Competition and the Joseph Joachim Violin Competition. We are looking forward to many top-class classical concerts at the Öschberghof!
