Dénes Varjón graduated from the Franz Liszt Academy in 1991, where he took lessons from Sándor Falvai, György Kurtág and Ferenc Rados i.a.. Master classes with András Schiff rounded off his education. His sensational technique, deep musicality and wide-ranging interests have made Dénes Varjón one of the most exciting and respected players in international music life. He regularly works with outstanding partners such as Steven Isserlis, Tabea Zimmermann, Kim Kashkashian, Jörg Widmann, Leonidas Kavakos, András Schiff, Heinz Holliger and Joshua Bell. As a soloist, he is a welcome guest at major concert series, from New York's Carnegie Hall to the Vienna Konzerthaus and London's Wigmore Hall. He has performed with the world's leading symphony orchestras and conductors such as Sir Georg Solti, Iván Fischer, Ádám Fischer, Horst Stein and Zoltán Kocsis and regularly appears at leading international festivals from Marlboro to Salzburg to Edinburgh. Dénes Várjon worked closely with Alfred Brendel: their joint Liszt project was presented in Great Britain and Italy, among other places.
