Vladimir Krainev

Vladimir Krainev was born 1944 in Ukraine. Study with Heinrich Neuhaus. First prize at the International Tschaikowsky Competition in Moscow as well as prizes at the international piano competitions in Leeds and Lisabon. He teached very successfully at the conservatory in Hanover until he died in April 2011. Vladimir Krainev gave concerts in all important European culture centers and at eminent music festivals. He has completed tours with orchestra concerts and solo evenings through Europe, Far East and USA. Thereby, he has collaborated with conductors like Vladmir Ashkenazy, Pierre Boulez, Carlo Maria Giulini and Bernard Haitink. Among his chamber music partners are Borodin-Quartett, Natalia Gutman, Liane Issakadze, Gidon Kremer, Yevgeni Nesterenko, Heinrich Schiff and Dmitri Sitkovetsky. Vladimir Krainev was founder of international competitions for young pianists in Charkov (Ukraine) and juror of large competitions. A lot of his students won prizes at international piano competitions.
