"During my 1st visit to Berlin in October 2018 I stopped by Bechstein's main office and I was amazed by the magnificent world class pianos I had the opportunity to play on! Since then, Bechstein is one of my most favorite piano brands because these incredible handmade piano masterpieces give me great freedom for expression, allowing me to create more easily rich tone color palettes and endless layers of nuances and musi-colors in the piano works I perform."
Tania Stavreva on Bechstein
Tania Stavreva was born in Bulgaria into a highly musical family. She was surrounded by classical music, and started to play the piano herself at the age of four. During her childhood and teenage years in Bulgaria, she took piano lessons at the National Music School ‘Dobrin Petkov’ and later at the National Conservatory in Sofia. The next step led her to the United States, when she received a full scholarship for the Boston Conservatory, where she received her college education.
She has since become an international multi-award winning Billboard Top 10 artist and has been called "Bulgarian-born piano dynamo" (Time Out NY). Critics have described her as "most unique, most exciting, mesmerizing, world class, bold, dynamic, magnificent, hot, fearless, terrific and fascinating!” Some career highlights include solo performances at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Lincoln Center (New York), the Grammy Museum Theater/Clive Davis Auditorium (Los Angeles), Berlin Philharmonie (Berlin, Germany), Koerner Hall (Toronto, Canada), Wheeler Opera House (Aspen, CO).
She has been featured on BBC Music Magazine, Billboard Magazine, CNN, ABC7, NY 1 News, NY Daily News, AXS and Keyboard Magazine to name a few. Her "knockout" (The Huffington Post) album Rhythmic Movement reached Billboard Classical Top 10 and won 15 international music awards.
Tania is one of the most versatile young artists of her generation, performing also at venues such as The Hard Rock Cafe (Hollywood, CA), Webster Hall (New York) and Paradise Rock Club (Boston, MA).
