Jonathan Biss, born 1978 in the USA, studied with Evelyne Brancart and Leon Fleisher. Worldwide concerts with among others the following orchestras: BBC Symphony, Gulbenkian Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Staatskapelle Berlin, San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic. Collaboration with eminent conductors, such as Marin Alsop, Daniel Barenboim, Herbert Blomstedt, James Levine, Sir Neville Marriner, and Kurt Masur. Jonathan Biss has performed at renowned festivals, such as Ruhr Piano Festival, Verbier, New York's and London's Mostly Mozart, Aspen, Ravinia and Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Winner of the Gilmore Young Artist Award, Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award and the Leonard Bernstein Award. Jonathan Biss is the exclusive artist for EMI Classics. Selected for the BBC New Generation Artist Program. Playing on Bechstein in Berlin, he praised the "fine instrument."
