Between the years, pianist Haiou Zhang shone with impressive musical performances. The virtuoso was on tour from December 24, 2024 to January 1, 2025 with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia under the direction of chief conductor Yeruham Scharovsky.
Haiou Zhang's interpretation of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3 was particularly impressive, causing goosebumps in halls such as the Yangzhou Canal Grand Theater and the Hangzhou Canal Grand Theater. Zhang played on his favorite instrument, a C. Bechstein D 282 concert grand - both at the last concert of 2024 and the first concert of 2025.
"That familiar feeling is so important. I can't really put it into words - but on the C. Bechstein D 282 grand piano, I can let off steam without limits and conjure up all kinds of colors," Haiou Zhang explained enthusiastically. The audience was equally impressed by the technical brilliance and emotional depth of his playing, making the tour an unforgettable experience.
