Benjamin Moser will play works by Rachmaninoff, Gershwin and Mussorgsky during the C. Bechstein recital to be given on April 27, 2018 at the Konzerthaus in Berlin. Benjamin Moser was born in Munich in 1981. After studying at the Conservatory of Music and Theater of his native city and at Berlin’s University of the Arts under the professors Michael Schäfer and Klaus Hellwig, respectively, he is now ranked among the best pianists of his generation.

He achieved international status in 2007 when he won the famous Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, being awarded both the audience prize and that for the best interpretation of a work by the Russian composer. Particularly worth noting among his other awards is the first prize at the Artur-Schnabel-Klavierwettbewerb held in Berlin.

Benjamin Moser performs regularly as a soloist, with great ensembles and as a chamber musician, playing with such partners as Nicolas Altstaedt, Julian Steckel, Danjulo Ishizaka, Andrej Bielow, Franziska Hoelscher, and his brother, Johannes Moser.

His debut CD, recorded in 2009 with works by Russian composers, was highly praised by the critics. Three years later, he recorded a second CD with works by French composers Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy.

Benjamin Moser, who has even performed at Wigmore Hall in London, will play the works recorded on his last CDs during the recital to be given at the Konzerthaus in Berlin.
