Schaghajegh Nosrati is an internationally acclaimed pianist, best known for her interpretations of Bach. She made her breakthrough as a prize winner at the 2014 Leipzig Bach Competition and through her close collaboration with Sir András Schiff, who praises her Bach playing for its “clarity, purity, and maturity.” Nosrati has performed at festivals such as the BBC Proms, the Ruhr Piano Festival, the Lucerne Festival, and the Chopin Bach Festival Montréal, as well as in renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, the Tonhalle in Zurich, Wigmore Hall in London, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, the Bochum Symphony Orchestra, and festival orchestras under Reinhard Goebel. Highlights have included tours in China, joint concerts with Sir András Schiff, and performances of the Partitas and The Well-Tempered Clavier. Nosrati has released nine CDs, including chamber music with the Joolaee Trio, which she founded. She is committed to teaching; she has served as a lecturer in Hanover and is an assistant to Sir András Schiff at the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin.
