MICHEL DALBERTO was born in Paris in 1955 and ranks among the major contemporary French pianists. A former pupil of Vlado Perlemuter, he won First Prize at the Mozart Competition in Salzburg, the Clara Haskil Competition and the Leeds International Piano Competition. Subsequently, he performed under the baton of such distinguished conductors as Sir Colin Davis, Charles Dutoit, Daniele Gatti, Erich Leinsdorf, Kurt Masur, Wolfgang Sawallisch and Yuri Temirkanov, as well as at various international festivals (Lucerne, Florence, Aix-en-Provence, Edinburgh, Miami, Seattle, Wiener Festwochen, Schleswig-Holstein, Grange de Meslay, La Roque d’Anthéron, etc.). His discography includes numerous prize-winning CDs recorded for the Denon, EMI and Sony/BMG labels, as well as a series of albums released on the Aparté label. Also famous as a director and chamber musician, Michel Dalberto has been teaching at the music conservatory in Paris since 2011.
