As winners of the ARD Piano Duo Competition 2021, the Geister Duo is now considered one of the most promising piano ensembles of its generation. David Salmon and Manuel Vieillard began working together while studying at the Regional Conservetoire Paris. From their meeting came the desire to deepen the duo repertoire, not as two soloists, but as a real chamber music ensemble. After successfully completing their solo piano studies at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and the Conservatoire de Paris, they perfected their skills in duo playing with Emmanuel Strosser and finally devoted themselves entirely to playing in duos with Claire Désert in the chamber music master's course. The Geister Duo gives concerts internationally on the major concert stages and at festivals (Folles Journées de Nantes, La Roque d'Anthéron, Les musicales du Pays d'Auge, etc.) and works with the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the WDR Symphony Orchestra, among others. Recordings with works by Schumann, Brahms and Dvoràk as well as Debussy and Stravinsky were released in 2022 and 2023 on the Mirare label.
