ABDEL RAHMAN EL BACHA was predicted a great career by Claudio Arrau in 1973. At the age of 19, he won the Belgian Queen Elisabeth Competition, following which he performed in the most prestigious halls around the world: From the Mozarteum in Salzburg to the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris, from the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam to the Herkulessaal in Munich, he has played as soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris and the Orchestre National de France, with the Belgian National Orchestra, the NHK Tokyo and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. His considerable discography includes recordings of works by Prokofiev, Bach, Ravel, Schumann, Schubert and Rachmaninov (Forlane). He recorded all of Frédéric Chopin's works for solo piano, as well as his piano concertos. In 2011, Abdel Rahman El Bacha began a collaboration with the Mirare label, recording works for solo piano by Prokofiev, as well as all 32 of Beethoven's piano sonatas on Bechstein.
