Vittorio Forte is one of the leading pianists of the new Italian school. He began playing the piano at the age of nine and has won several competitions in Italy (Ostuni, Lamezia, Modica) as well as the First Prize at the International Competition in Zumaia, Spain. In 1998, he enrolled at the Haute école de musique in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he studied under Christian Favre, who played a major role in his training. Vittorio then attended master classes given by Paul Badura-Skoda, Jean-Marc Luisada and François-René Duchâble, prior to continuing his studies at the International Piano Academy Lake Como under Andreas Staier, Menahem Pressler and Fou Tsong.
He was awarded two prizes at the Vlado Perlemuter Grand Prix organized in France and has recorded several CDs with works by Clementi, Schumann, Couperin and Chopin which were acclaimed by the critics. In addition to his concert activities, he gives master classes for experienced and professional pianists and is the artistic director of several musical events in France.
