Artur Schnabel: No Place of Exile

Multimedia concert around the legendary pianist

After establishing his career and reputation in Berlin, Artur Schnabel was exiled from Germany by the rise of the Nazis. Although Schnabel went on to achieve great acclaim in the United States and western Europe, he never returned to the city where he had spent his formative years. The spirit of Schnabel and his remarkable body of work comes to Megève in a major commemorative concert by pianist Markus Pawlik and his musical collaborators, singer Dietrich Henschel and the Szymanowski String Quartet. The concert also features projections by filmmaker Matthew Mishory and staged readings of Schnabel's letters by Raphaelle Farman.
