Ilya Yakushev

Ilya Yakushev, born in St. Petersburg, studied at the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory with William Matygulin and as of 2000 with Vladimir Feltsman at Mannes College in New York. Ilya Yakushev is award winner of the St. Petersburg Young Artists Concerto Competition. He has won first prize two times at the Donostia Hiria International Piano Competition in San Sebastian, Spain. His greatest competition success was first prize and gold medallion at the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati. Connected with the first prize at the Mannes Concerto Competition was a performance of Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 in Alice Tully Hall at New York's Lincoln Center. Ilya Yakushev has concert engagements worldwide: Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain, USA. In 2010 he performed with the BBC Concert Orchestra in London.
