Anna Gourari

Anna Gourari, born in Kazan, Russia, is one of the most exceptional artistic personalities of her generation. in 1994 she won at the 1st International Clara Schumann Piano Competition in Düsseldorf, later she was distinguished among other things at the Deutsche Phonoakademie's ECHO Classic 2000 as "Offspring Artist of the Year" and ECHO Classic 2001 as "Instrumentalist of the Year." Anna Gourari performs regularly as guest musician in great music centers, among others Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and Vienna Konzerthaus. She has played with great orchestras under conductors like Iván Fischer, Lorin Maazel and Zubin Meta. Her interest in music of the 20th century is documented by numerous recordings of works by Bartók, Hindemith, Poulenc, Prokofiev and Zemlinsky as well as contemporary composers such as Bialas, Gubaidulina, Hiller and Shchedrin.
