Renaud Capuçon & Guillaume Bellom begin their recital with a sonata of J.S. Bach rarely played on the big stage followed by the famous sonata no 7 by Ludwig van Beethoven. The second half presents Claude Debussy who would have turned 156 tonight and his contemporary Maurice Ravel whose sonata is inspired by the jazz movement of the 1920s (a thread that will continue tomorrow with Gabriel Fauré´s quartet interpreted by the Ebène Quartet and the program Classic meets jazz American pianist Uri Caine).
C. Bechstein is a partner of the newly founded “Megève Festival Savoy Truffle” to be held from August 17 to September 2, 2018.
