An exceptional piano for dazzling concerts: within the framework of the International German Piano Award, seven talented young pianists performed on a C. Bechstein D 282 grand and wowed the audience during three concerts at Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and the official opening concert of the Frankfurt Music Fair at the Alte Oper.

For the opening concert in Frankfurt’s most glamorous venue, Joseph Moog and Andrejs Osokins performed Anton Rubinstein’s Piano Concerto No. 4 and Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1, accompanied by the orchestra Kremerata Baltica conducted by Boian Videnoff. The concert was broadcast live on www.klassik.tv. The recordings (available via the links >> Rubinstein, Piano Concerto n° 4 and >> Liszt, Piano Concerto n° 1) bring the warm, elegant, scintillating sound of the C. Bechstein grand to life for generations to come.

The concert performed at the Alte Oper attracted numerous journalists and guests of honor, including Gidon Kremer, Professor Lars Vogt, Dr. Peter Ramsauer (former German minister and accomplished pianist), Pascal Laugel (CEO of Targobank) and Detlef Braun (Director of Messe Frankfurt GmbH), not to mention virtually the entire Executive and Supervisory Boards of C. Bechstein Pianofortefabrik AG.

In the lead-up to this memorable event, five former prize-winners and nominees performed concerts – also on a fabulous C. Bechstein D 282 – organized by the International Piano Forum at Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts: Ah Ruehm Ahn and Yewkon Sunwoo played works by Mozart, Chopin, Prokofiev, Debussy, Liszt and Rachmaninoff while Ching-Yun Hu and Lukas Geniusas performed pieces by Scriabin, Schubert, Granados and Schumann. And Dmitri Levkovich dazzled during his performance of works by Rachmaninoff, Schubert, Bach and Prokofiev.

We would like to congratulate the International Piano Forum on this highly successful festival and look forward to the next year’s Internationaler Deutscher Pianistenpreis.
