26th International ROMA piano competition 2016 on C. Bechstein

Fabbrini, C. Bechstein importer for Italy, was this year again partner of the well-known International Piano Competition ROMA in Rome. The participants performed on two C. Bechstein grand pianos D 282 and used a Bechstein grand piano B228 and other Bechstein and W.Hoffmann pianos for practicing.

In 2016, the Competition celebrated the XXVI edition and saw the participation of 120 pianists coming from 34 countries of the five continents of the world.

This Piano Competition, organized by the Chopin Association, awards the winner with the plate of the President of Italian Republic and is supported by the patronage of the most important Italian Institutions and local administrative authorities. The judging committee was formed by eminent representatives of the concert, teaching, and press fields coming from Italy and abroad.

The jury of the 26th “ROMA” International Piano Competition: Susan Bettaney, Vittorio Costa, Giovanna Savarese, Marcella Crudeli, Marco Sollini, Salvatore Barbatan.

Once again, this International Piano Competition took place in the picturesque frame of the Cloister of the Church of San Giovanni Battista de’ Genovesi in the heart of Trastevere. The final Concert of the Winners took place in the Teatro Quirino – Vittorio Gassman.

2nd Prize - Daniia Khaibullina (RUS)
3rd Prize - Hao Zi Yoh (MAS)  

Special Prize "Cuomo Foundation" for the best pianist from Eastern European Country Daniia Khaibullina (RUS) 
Special Prize "Fryderyk Chopin National Institute" for the best performer of a Chopin's composition Daniia Khaibullina (RUS)

To keep high the quality of the instruments during the competition, one of the technicians from  Fabbrini remained in Rome for the entire period of the Competition. We congratulate all winners on this wonderful success!
