Yevgeny Sudbin

"Yevgeny Sudbin is now celebrated as one of the greatest pianists of the 21st century." (Daily Telegraph) Yevgeny Sudbins' CD debut, which appeared in 2005 with Scarlatti sonatas, was greeted with just as much resounding praise as the following recordings, a Rachmaninow solo CD and a recording of the first piano concertos by Medtner and Tschaikowsky. Right away Sudbin was perceived as one of the world's most fascinating young pianists. His Skriabin recording became CD of the Month in the BBC Music Magazine, CD of the Year in the Daily Telegraph and won the Midern Award in Cannes as Best Instrumental CD of the Year.

Born 1980 in St. Petersburg, Yevgeny Sudbin was admitted to the St. Petersburg Conservatory in 1987. In 1990 he continued his studies in Berlin and then moved to London, where he lives since 1997. There he studied with Christopher Elton at the Royal Academy of Music and additionally attended the Internationale Piano Foundation at Comer See in Italien. He took lessons from Leon Fleischer, Claude Frank and Murray Perahia. Along with concerts in Europe and Scandinavia he undertook in 2006 a highly successful concert tour through Canada and the USA and presented his New York debut in the Frick Collection series. Today Sudbin is successful worldwide.
