Iddo Bar-Shai, born in Nazareth in 1977, studied at the Rubin Music Academy in Tel Aviv with Pnina Salzman. He attended numerous international master classes, several times the interpretation course of Alexis Weissenberg. Already at the age of eleven Iddo Bar-Shai received a scholarship from the American-Israeli Cultural Foundation. At twelve he made his debut with orchestra. He has won prizes in various international competitions in Israel, the USA and France. This was followed by invitations to important festivals such as those in Verbier, Ravinia and La Roque d'Anthéron. Iddo Bar-Shai took part in the "La Folle Journée" festival in Nantes as well as in festivals in Lisbon, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro. As a camera musician Iddo Bar-Shai has performed with the Ysaye Quartet, the Aviv Quartet and the Ebène Quartet. Many of his concerts have been recorded and broadcasted by radio. His first two CDs for the Mirare label with sonatas by Joseph Haydn and mazurkas by Frédéric Chopin received excellent reviews.
